A lovely small pond in a very pleasant rural location in the heart of the Hampshire countryside. Well stocked with various species, including Ghost Koi Carp to over 25 pounds, the lake has the added benefit of two little islands which form interesting features.
Winchfield is one of the Society’s more recent acquisitions and could present a few piscatorial surprises in the future with Roach, Rudd, Perch, Bream and Tench possible.
Members feedback on their catches to the Head Bailiff or Honorary Secretary would be appreciated and will assist with fishery management of the pond.
The heavy weed and proliferation of lilies on this fishery can make angling difficult, but perseverance can show exceptional results.
This very pretty pond offers a pleasant place to spend time pursuing the stock of Ghost Carp up to 26lb 6oz with the occasional Mirror Carp that cruise around the two islands and the lily pads, with some Roach and occasional Tench also present and even a couple of Pike to 15lb.
The Koi Carp are frequently fished for with surface baits and offer some of the most exciting fishing when using this tactic, but make sure you use tackle that will cope with extracting these beasts from the weed.
April to January 2009:
Awaiting results..

FAS Koi Record Falls
Congratulations to Mike Guy for his very first fish from Farnham Angling Society waters on his first ever trip out !
Caught on 1st June 2010 and fishing on his own, he did well to get a good photo of the 31lb 0oz Koi, one of two known 30s at the small fishery.
The fish came from under a overhanging tree on the island, and was tempted by a Mango & Peach Boilie with a piece of orange plastic corn.
