- My name is Brad Bickell age 14, I went fishing with my dad and we fished at Badshot Lea Big Pond from the 9th - 12th of July. I caught a 21lb 10oz Grass Carp, it almost beat my personal best which is 22lb 3oz Common Carp also from the Big Pond. I got up at 1.20 am on Saturday morning to a screamer and I pulled in this lovely Grass Carp, I think the Junior Teach Ins had paid off, thank you to Dave Benton and helpers.

- Graham Ball said "I caught my first ever Catfish of 24lb 4oz from Badshot Lea Big Pond at 3.30am on 10th April 2010, this was subsequently followed by another at 5.20am of 36lb 4oz and another of 12lb. So first time Catfishing and I got 3 Cats all on pop ups intended for Carp whilst the 30mm halibut pellet remained untouched all night: my first Catfish at 20lb +, then beat it within 2-hours and then added a third for good measure, what more could an angler want!!!!"

- Ben Scolari caught this 15lb 10oz Catfish on 5 June 2010, "I was fishing swim 38 using a simple carp rig, weight then hook length, nothing fancy. I used a 14mm halibut pellet with a piece of rubber corn and used a PVA bag and cast it about 10 meters right of the island. An hour later, I had a run and caught the fish, it was a nice fight."

- Retired train Driver John Triggs was fishing at Badshot Lea Big Pond and thought he had his red letter day: Fishing over a bed of maize and pigeon conditioner and with a piece of plastic corn and tiger nut, at approximately midday he had a screaming run and eventually landed a superb 29 lb Grass Carp. Thinking his day could not get much better, four hours latter he had another run and landed a lovely 38 lb 0oz Common Carp, caught on a single piece of plastic corn. During his period on the pond, John caught another 12 Carp up to sixteen pounds

- Daniel said "I had got to a swim with my dad at about 15:30 planning to do the night. I had not long put the bivvy up and put my rods out when I got a one toner. Panicking and running to my rods, I struck, feeling a rock solid resistance. By the time I struck the rod the fish was about 70 yards out, the Carp kited to my right nearly going around the back of an island. After 5 minutes I had got the fish into the margins and seen it, I knew it was big and when my dad netted the fish I was very happy. A new PB. I was also told by the person fishing next to me that it was very big for a linear."
