New stocking and New Captures of Originals at Tarn Pond
Farnham Angling Society Press Release: Date: 14 September 2005

Farnham Angling Society is continuing the rejuvenation of Tarn Pond with the announcement that the society will be stocking 5 specimen carp of 20lb+to boost the fishing as news comes from member of original fish being captured to over 16lbs!

The news of original Leney carp being captured to over 16lbs and recent sightings of larger surviving specimens, angler’s interest in Tarn Pond has once again peaked since the events of 2004. In answer to this increased interest and relieve the pressure on the original fish, FAS decided to introduce a number of specimen carp into the water at up to 20lbs in weight.

In all, 5 fish have been stocked, hand picked from a specially reserved stock of specimen carp from Mark Simmonds. This now nationally famous strain have showed amazing growth rates is hoped will add to the sport offered by the up and coming stocking of smaller fish stocked in the winter of 2005
.
With the successful passing of this year, Farnham’s fisheries management team have also approved a full stocking policy

for Tarn pond including fish from a mixture of Mark Simmonds stock and also the beautiful fish produced from Priory fisheries stock.

Farnham Angling Society hopes these fish will go on to flourish and provide decades more enjoyment, and sport for its members.
