This attractive 13.8 acre lake contains three islands and offers a good head of 20 and 30lb Carp to a current top weight of 40lb + at the right time of year.
A number of double-figure fish are also present, which have done well as a result of the management plans formerly undertaken on the fishery.
Common Carp to 43lb 12oz, Mirror Carp to a top weight of 48lb, Bream to 9lb+, Perch to 3lb 12oz, Tench to 7lb+ & Catfish to 91lb are all present.
The Cats were stocked in 1993 as ‘kittens’ and the good head of fish that makes up the backbone of the stock now top 91lb in weight!
Carp fishing on this venue can be very rewarding with exceptional specimens falling to the obvious bottom tactics.
Use bottom tactics to present baits on the bars or in the silty gullies for best results, and margins can be well worth the effort if you are quiet!
The Catfish offer an interesting challenge and once you have hooked a decent sized specimen you will know why they are such a popular quarry. Most cats come out to anglers fishing for Carp, but a live bait presented just sub surface is a killing method.
Remember to set your clutch properly to avoid being flat lined if you connect with a Catfish, which grow to over 91lb !
