Carp fishing on this venue can be very rewarding with exceptional specimens falling to the obvious bottom tactics.
Use bottom tactics to present baits on the bars or in the silty gulleys for best results, and margins can be well worth the effort if you are quiet!

Important News - Temporary closure of Yateley South Lake Complex (South Lake, Pumphouse Lake, Horseshoe Lake & Tree Lake), for fishing and access.
From 11.00am on Saturday 1st February until 11:00am on Monday 17th February 2020, Yateley South Complex will be closed. This regrettable closure has been sanctioned by the Executive Committee as a result of a minority of members leaving excrement on the bankside which is wholly unacceptable, potentially dangerous and totally inexcusable. The gates to the fishery will be secured with a combination padlock and chain and may only be unlocked by the Chief Bailiff. The Executive Committee sincerely trust that such a closure will not be required in the future, but will take the same action if required on other secure FAS fisheries if such behaviour occurs. The Executive Committee
Horseshoe, Pumphouse & Tree Lakes
Horseshoe, Pumphouse & Tree Lakes will remain closed until 8th July 2019, following which, the fisheries will be open to fish but some areas of the lakes will be closed whilst access improvements takes place around the lakes. These works will continue for several weeks until completed.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused for this essential works.
Stepping Stones to Carp Fishing Success 2018
Our thanks to Duncan Smith and his friends who will once again assist FAS Members wishing to gain knowledge and experience at the Stepping Stones event at South Lake.
Fishery Management works at South Lake.
Fishery Management works at South Lake:
These will include:
1/. The installation of flushing toilets.
2/. The removal of the wooden bridge to access swims 11 – 16 and it’s replacement with a surfaced path over a culvert to provide improved access.
3/. There will be an additional 2 or 3 swims added at South Lake. Swim 11 to be removed and possibly one other, and with 2 x swims previously used by Cemex e-instated (as per the old notice board), and with 1 x new swim being created.
4/. Overflow pipe - Already replaced and set at the correct level.
5/. A 2” layer of scalpings will be used in several of the swims when construction/repairs take place, so that they stand up better to use.
5/. The swims which are partly underwater are those that are to be rebuilt, and will be raised a little in order that they are above the Maximum Water Level.
These works are likely to take in the region of 2-months and will involve the appropriate swims being taped off as and when necessary. We apologise for the disturbance to all Members whilst these works take place.
